Ok, so remember when we talked about volcanoes? Well, there's another way that rocks can be made and it's called plutonism. It's like making a cake, but instead of baking it in an oven, we're making it underground.
So, imagine we have a big pot of lava deep under the ground, but instead of exploding out like a volcano, the lava stays there and cools off slowly over time. As it cools, it turns from a hot, liquidy lava to a solid rock. And that's how plutonic rocks are made!
Sometimes the lava ends up forming big chunks or blobs of solid rock underground, which we call plutons. These plutons can be really big and sometimes you can even see them on the surface as mountains or hills.
Cool, huh? So, while volcanoes make rocks by exploding out of the ground, plutonism is where rocks are made slowly, deep under the ground.
