Podao

Podao is a type of sword that people used long time ago in China. It is a very long and heavy sword that looks a bit like a big cooking knife. If you have ever seen a big kitchen knife, then you kind of know what a podao looks like.

Podao sword was used by soldiers like a weapon to protect their country. Its heavy weight made it very powerful so they could chop through things like wood or even bones. Think of it like a superhero's weapon!

But since it's heavy, people needed to be very strong to use it. They needed to use their whole body to swing it around. So, having a podao was like having a symbol of strength and honor.

Nowadays, people don't use podao much as a weapon anymore because there are better options available. But some people who love martial arts or history still learn how to use it to keep its tradition alive.
