Poldhu

Poldhu is a place in Cornwall, England where people developed important communication technology that allowed messages to be sent through the air using radio waves. It was very difficult to send messages long distances before this technology existed, and messages often had to be sent by telegraph using wires.

But scientists and engineers in Poldhu discovered that if they sent electrical signals into the air, they could travel a long distance and be picked up by a receiver. This technology was called wireless telegraphy and it revolutionized communication. People could now send messages across the ocean without wires, which was very fast and efficient.

The Poldhu station became very famous because in 1901, it was used to send the first transatlantic radio message between the United States and England. This was a huge achievement and it paved the way for the development of modern communication technology like radios and smartphones.

So, in summary, Poldhu is a place where people invented a way to send messages through the air using radio waves, which was very important for communication and led to the creation of modern communication technology.
