Politics of San Marino

Alright, kiddo! So, let's talk about the politics of San Marino.

San Marino is a very small country in Europe. People who live in San Marino get to vote on their leaders, just like we do in our town or city. But they have a slightly different system than we do.

San Marino has two leaders. They are called Captains Regent. They are elected every six months. That means they only get to be leaders for six months, and then new ones are picked. It's kind of like taking turns as leaders.

The Captains Regent get to make important decisions for San Marino. They work with other leaders to make laws and decide how the country should be run. San Marino also has a council made up of citizens who help make decisions.

But even though San Marino is small, it still has a lot of people who live there. So, to make sure everyone's voice is heard, they have an assembly made up of all the citizens. They get to vote on things too, like new laws or changes to how things are done.
