Politics of Western Australia
Politics is like a big game where people try to make decisions for the whole group. In Western Australia, there are lots of different groups and people who want to make decisions for the state.
The two big groups are called the Labor Party and the Liberal Party. These groups have different ideas about how things should be run and they both want to be in charge of making the rules.
The Labor Party is often more focused on helping people who don't have a lot of money. They want to make sure that everyone has access to things like healthcare and education, even if they don't have lots of money.
The Liberal Party is often more focused on helping businesses and people who already have a lot of money. They believe that if businesses do well, everyone will benefit from things like more jobs and more money.
Sometimes other smaller groups called independents or minor parties get involved and also want to make decisions for Western Australia. These groups might have different ideas than the Labor Party or the Liberal Party.
When it's time to decide who gets to make the rules, there's something called an election. People who are eligible to vote get to choose which group they want to be in charge.
