Polydactyl cat

Okay kiddo, have you seen cats with more than five toes on their paws? This kind of cat is called a polydactyl cat.

Remember when we talked about how humans have five fingers on each hand? well, cats usually have five toes on each paw. But polydactyl cats have more than five toes on one or more of their paws. Sometimes they have six or seven toes on one foot!

It's like having an extra thumb or pinky finger. But having extra toes doesn't mean the cat is sick or hurt, it's just a trait they inherited from their parents.

In fact, some people think that having extra toes can help the cat be a better climber or hunter.
