ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Polygon density

Imagine you have a coloring book page with only a few shapes to color in, like a circle, square, and triangle. This coloring book page has a low polygon density because there aren't many shapes on it.

Now, imagine you have another coloring book page with many more shapes to color in, like a star, hexagon, and octagon. This coloring book page has a high polygon density because there are many shapes on it.

When we talk about polygon density in more complex things like 3D models or video games, it becomes a way to measure how smooth or detailed the object looks. If there are many polygons (or shapes) in the 3D model, then it will look smoother and more detailed. But if there are fewer polygons in the 3D model, it will look more blocky and less detailed.

So, the polygon density is basically how many shapes there are in a 3D model or video game, and it affects how the object looks when we view it.
