A long time ago, in a faraway land called Bulgaria, there were some people called Pomaks. They had their own language and culture, and they lived in the mountains and forests. But the government of Bulgaria didn't always treat the Pomaks very nicely. They sometimes made it hard for the Pomaks to practice their religion and speak their language.
So some of the Pomaks wanted to have their own country, called the Pomak Republic. They wanted to make their own rules and live their own way, without interference from the Bulgarian government. But this is easier said than done!
Creating a new country is really hard work. You need to have a plan for how you want to govern yourself, and how you will protect your people from outside threats. You also need other countries to recognize your independence, so that you can trade with them and have diplomatic relations.
Unfortunately, the Pomaks haven't been able to convince other countries to recognize their independence yet. So for now, they continue to live in Bulgaria, hoping that the government will give them more rights and freedoms. But the idea of a Pomak Republic still exists, and some people continue to work towards making it a reality someday.
