Poon Lim was a man who survived for 133 days all alone in the ocean. He was on a ship called the SS Ben Lomond in World War II, which was attacked by a German submarine and sank. Poon Lim was the only survivor.
He had to use all his survival skills to stay alive. He used a life raft to stay afloat and had to catch fish to eat and collect rainwater to drink, since there wasn't any fresh water on the raft. He also had to be very careful not to get too much sun or too cold, because he didn't have any shelter or warmth.
Eventually, he was rescued by some fishermen who found him drifting in the ocean. Even though he was very weak and had lost a lot of weight, he was still alive and able to tell his incredible story of survival.
Poon Lim's story is a great example of human resilience and courage. Despite being in one of the most difficult situations imaginable, he never gave up and kept fighting to stay alive.
