Port state control

Okay, so, have you ever heard of a place called a port? It's like a big parking lot for really big boats and ships. And sometimes, people who work at the port want to make sure that the boats and ships that come in are safe and following the rules.

That's where something called port state control comes in. It's kind of like a safety check for boats and ships. When a boat or ship comes into a port, people who work at the port might want to check it out to make sure everything is okay.

They might check things like the engine, the steering, the lights, and other important parts of the boat or ship. They might also look at the crew to make sure they are following the laws and regulations.

If the boat or ship doesn't pass the safety check, the people at the port might not let it park there. That can be a big problem because the boat or ship might not be able to load or unload cargo or people.

So, port state control is like a safety check for boats and ships when they come to park at a port. It's important to keep everyone safe and make sure things are running smoothly.
