Portuguese-Spanish relations

Portuguese people and Spanish people live in countries that are next to each other and share a long history together. Sometimes, they have been friends and sometimes they have been enemies.

A long time ago, Spain used to be much bigger than it is now, and Portugal was just a small part of it. But one day, Portugal decided to start its own country and became independent. This made Spain upset and they fought against each other for many years.

However, today Portuguese and Spanish people are very close friends. They visit each other's countries often, speak similar languages, and have similar cultural traditions. They even work together in many ways, like trading goods and services, and building things like roads and bridges.

Of course, sometimes they may still have disagreements or arguments, but just like any good friendship, they talk things out and try to find solutions that make both sides happy.
