Poshak

Okay kiddo, do you know what we wear on our body to cover ourselves? Clothes, right? Just like that, poshak is a type of clothes that people in some parts of India wear.

Now, poshak doesn’t mean just any clothes, it’s a special kind of dress that girls and women wear on special occasions like weddings, festivals, or religious ceremonies. It’s very traditional and has been worn by women in India for a long time.

A poshak includes different parts that together make up the whole outfit. The main part is the long and flowing skirt, which is usually made of cotton or silk and adorned with beautiful patterns and designs. On top of the skirt, there’s a blouse that is often made of matching fabric and embroidered with intricate details.

The third part of the poshak is a long scarf or shawl that goes over the head, covering the upper body and resting on the shoulders. This is called the odhni or dupatta and it’s often made of colorful and lightweight fabrics like chiffon or georgette.

Lastly, the poshak is accessorized with some jewelry like bangles or necklaces and sometimes they’ll wear a nose ring or earrings too.

Poshak is a very important part of Indian culture and it shows the beauty and elegance of women.
