Post-behavioralism

Okay kiddo, so post-behavioralism is a big word that talks about how we study politics and how people behave in politics.

Before, people used to think that the best way to study politics was to look at what people do and try to figure out why they do it. They called this "behavioralism" - it's like looking at someone's behavior (what they do) to understand their thoughts and feelings (why they do it).

But then, some people started to think that this wasn't the best way to study politics anymore. They said that just because we can see what people do, it doesn't mean we understand why they do it.

So, post-behavioralism tries to go beyond just looking at what people do to understand politics. It tries to look at how people think, what they believe in, and what values they have - things that are more hidden and harder to see. This helps us understand not just what is happening, but why it is happening.

So, it's like instead of just watching a soccer game and trying to understand why the players are kicking the ball, you also imagine what the players are feeling, what they're thinking about, and what they want to achieve. This way, you can really understand what's going on and why it matters.
