Potential difference

Potential difference is like a difference in levels between two places. Imagine two pools - one with lots of water and one that's almost empty. The pool with lots of water has a high potential (or level) and the other has a lower potential. Potential difference is the difference in levels between the two pools. It's like the difference between water going up the slide and down the slide - the higher up the slide, the higher the potential.
