ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Predictive medicine

Predictive medicine is a type of medicine that tries to predict whether or not you will get sick in the future. It looks at things like your age, where you live, your family’s medical history, and other factors to decide whether you are at a higher risk of getting a certain disease. With this information, doctors can give you advice on how to stay healthy and prevent getting sick in the future. For example, if you are at higher risk for heart disease, doctors may suggest that you exercise more and eat healthier foods.
