ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Preference-based planning

Preference-based planning is like when we go to a restaurant and there are many things on the menu but we choose what we like the most. We tell the waiter that we want burger and fries with Coke instead of salad and water. We have preferences or things we like more than others.

In the same way, when we want to plan something big, like going on a vacation, we might have different options to choose from. But we still have our preferences or things we like more than others. For example, we might prefer going to the beach instead of the mountains or staying in a hotel instead of camping.

Preference-based planning means that we make a plan that takes our preferences into account. It's like making a list of all the things we like and then choosing the best options that match our preferences. This helps us make decisions that we are happy with and enjoy doing.

So, preference-based planning is just like choosing what we like the most and making a plan accordingly. It helps us to have a more enjoyable and satisfying experience when we do things that we like.
