Preservation breeding

Preservation breeding is when people work really hard to make sure that certain animals or plants don't die out, so that we can still have them around in the future.

Imagine your favorite toy was getting old, and it was starting to break. You wouldn't want to throw it away and never be able to play with it again, right? That's what preservation breeding is like for animals and plants that might be in danger of disappearing forever.

Sometimes, people will take care of these special animals or plants by giving them a safe place to live and lots of food and water. They might even make sure that these animals or plants are healthy and happy so that they can have babies and make more of themselves.

Other times, people might try to mix two different animals or plants together, which is called "cross-breeding." This way, they can get a new kind of animal or plant that is stronger and healthier than the old kind.

Overall, preservation breeding is all about making sure that we can keep enjoying and using our favorite animals and plants, even if they're in danger of disappearing.
