Price look-up code

A price look-up code, or PLU, is a special number that helps us know how much money we have to pay for something at a store. It's like a secret code that the people who work at the store use to tell the cash register how much the thing we want to buy costs. When we take something up to the cash register to pay for it, the person scanning the item will look for the PLU code on it, type it into the cash register, and then we know how much we have to pay for it. So, PLU codes help us know how much things cost at the store so we can pay for them correctly.
