ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Price's law

Hi there, have you ever heard of Price's Law before? No? Don't worry, I'll explain it to you like you're 5 years old.

Price's Law is a rule that says that in any field or industry, the majority of the work is done by a small number of people. Let me give you a simple example. If you have 10 kids in your class, chances are that 1 or 2 kids will answer most of the questions the teacher asks. These kids are the ones who know the most and are the most skilled.

The same is true in any field of work. For example, in science, a few scientists will make most of the breakthroughs, and in music, a few artists will make most of the hits that we hear on the radio.

So, why is this important? Well, it's important because it shows us that not everyone is equal in a certain area. Some people are just better at certain things than others. And knowing this can help us to figure out who we should look up to and learn from.

It also means that if you want to be really good at something, you need to work extra hard to be in that small group of people who are the most skilled. That's why it's important to study and practice a lot, so that you can become one of the best.

So, that's Price's Law for you. Remember, always strive to be one of the best, but also recognize that not everyone will be in that small group of experts.
