Privacy Act of 1974

The Privacy Act of 1974 is a law in the United States that protects the privacy of people who give information about themselves to the government. It means that the government can't share that information with anyone else unless you give permission. It also means that the government will provide you with access to the information they have about you and that you can ask them to correct any mistakes they have made. The Privacy Act also requires government agencies to keep your information safe and secure.
