Private police

Private police are police officers that are employed to protect people and property by a company, organization, or person instead of by the government. Private police officers still have some of the same powers as regular police officers and are usually hired to patrol and protect a certain area, like a neighborhood, an office building, or a shopping mall. They can also provide security and investigation services or traffic control. Private police usually have to follow the same laws and procedures as regular police.
