Pro–am

Hey kiddo, have you ever heard of the words "pro-am"? It means professional-amateur!

So, let's start with what a professional is. A professional is someone who is really good at something and gets paid to do it. For example, a professional soccer player gets paid to play soccer.

An amateur, on the other hand, is someone who also loves to do something, but they're not getting paid for it. So, someone who loves to play soccer with their friends on the weekends is an amateur soccer player.

Now, when we talk about pro-am, it means that a professional and an amateur are working together to do something. For example, let's say a famous chef is doing a cooking show and they invite a regular person who loves to cook to join them. The famous chef is the pro, and the regular person is the am!

Pro-ams can be really cool because it gives regular people the chance to work with and learn from someone who's really good at something. And it also lets the professionals see things from a different perspective and maybe even learn something new too!
