Progressive retinal atrophy

So, you know how our eyes are like little cameras that let us see things? Well, sometimes, some dogs can have a problem with their "camera" called the retina. The retina is like the film in a camera and helps us see things clearly.

Now, progressive retinal atrophy is when this "film" in the dog's eye starts to get messed up over time. It's kind of like when you draw a picture and then keep erasing and drawing over it. Eventually, you won't be able to see the original picture very well.

In dogs with progressive retinal atrophy, their vision gets worse and worse as time goes on. They might start bumping into things or not being able to see as well at night. It's important for their owners to take them to the vet to get checked out and make sure they're still safe.

Unfortunately, there's no cure for progressive retinal atrophy, but there are things that can be done to slow it down. Sometimes, dogs can even wear little doggy glasses to help them see better!
