ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Progressive revelation (Baháʼí)

Okay kiddo, do you know what a treasure hunt is? It's when you look for clues to find something valuable, like a treasure.

Well, the Baháʼí Faith believes that God has given us clues over time to help us understand the world and how to live our lives. This is called "progressive revelation."

Just like a treasure hunt, each clue is important but some are given at different times. So, as we go through life, we get more and more clues that help us understand the universe and God's message.

For example, the first clue was given thousands of years ago to a man named Abraham. He learned about the importance of faith in one God. Then, another clue was given to Moses, who taught about the importance of obeying God's laws.

Finally, the most recent clue was given to a man named Bahá'u'lláh. He taught about the importance of unity and equality between all people. Each clue builds upon the last one, and helps us better understand God's message.

So, kiddo, progressive revelation is like a treasure hunt where you get more and more clues to find the ultimate treasure: a better understanding of God and the world.
