ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Project Innocence

Project Innocence is a group of very nice lawyers who help people who were put in jail for things they didn't do. Imagine if you got in trouble for something you didn't do, and nobody believed you. That would be very scary and sad, right?

Well, these lawyers work really hard to help people who are in that situation. They investigate the case and look for evidence that will show that the person is innocent. Sometimes they even find mistakes that the police and the courts made! And then they tell the judge about it, and if they find that the person really didn't do what they were accused of, they can be set free.

It's like a superhero team, but instead of fighting bad guys, they fight for people who were hurt by mistakes. They're very important and we should be grateful for them!
