Project MKUltra was a secret program run by the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) in the 1950s and 1960s. The goal of the program was to find out if the CIA could make people do things using mind control. The CIA wanted to know if they could use drugs, hypnosis, and other techniques to make people obey orders without them knowing it. To do this, the CIA tested these techniques on people without their knowledge or consent. The people involved in the program were not told what was happening to them and often were not aware of the effects of the drugs and hypnotism. They were also not given the chance to say no or to stop the experiments. The CIA wanted to find out if they could use mind control to make people act in a way that was not in their own best interest. The effects of the program on people's minds and mental health are still being studied today.
