Project stakeholders

Imagine you are playing with blocks and you want to build a very tall tower.

Your mom and dad are watching you play and they also want the tower to be built because they believe it will be a fun and educational experience for you.

However, your little sister is also playing with you and she wants to build a castle instead of a tower.

In this situation, you, your mom and dad, and your little sister are all stakeholders in the project of building a tower.

Stakeholders are people or groups who have an interest or concern in a particular project or activity.

In the example, you, your mom and dad, and your little sister are all stakeholders because you all care about the tower (or castle!) and you all have a role to play in making it happen.

So, think of stakeholders like different people who care about a project and want to see it succeed – they might be helpers, decision makers, or even just cheerleaders from the sidelines!
