ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Projection keyboard

A projection keyboard is a special kind of keyboard that doesn't have buttons like a normal computer keyboard. Instead, it projects a picture of a keyboard onto a flat surface like a table. The picture looks like a regular keyboard with keys for letters, numbers, and symbols. When you touch the picture of a key on the flat surface, it sends a message to your computer or other device just like if you had actually pressed a button on a real keyboard.

It's kind of like magic! But really, it uses lasers or LED lights to project the keyboard picture onto the flat surface. Some projection keyboards even have sensors that can tell when your fingers touch the surface and pick up the keystrokes faster than others.

Using a projection keyboard may seem a little strange at first, since you can't actually feel the buttons like on a regular keyboard. But once you get used to it, they can be very useful because they are very portable and don't take up much space.
