Proportional representation

Proportional representation is a way of voting that makes sure each group of people in an election get the same amount of voices or reps in a government. This means that if 51% of people vote for one party, the other 49% get the same amount of voices represented in the government. For example, if there are 100 people in an election and 51 people vote for one party, the other 49 people would still get representation, even if they didn't get the most votes. This is proportional because it makes sure each group of people is represented in the same way.
