ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pseudocomplement

Okay, so imagine you have a bunch of blocks, like Legos. You have a big pile of them, and you want to sort them into two groups: the ones you like and the ones you don't like.

But what if I told you that you only have to sort them into one group? You just put all the blocks you don't like in one pile and keep the ones you do like.

That's kind of like what a pseudocomplement is. It's a way of sorting things into one group instead of two. Instead of having a group of things you like and a group of things you don't like, you just have one group of things you like and everything else is in the pseudocomplement.

It's kind of like using a shortcut to sort things more easily. Instead of having to make two piles, you just make one and the rest goes in the pseudocomplement.
