This movie is about a lady named Marion Crane. She is feeling very sad and desperate because of some problems she is having with her boyfriend and work. She decides to steal some money and run away to start a new life.

Now, the person who owns the money is a lady named Norma Bates, who lives in a motel that she runs with her son, Norman. When Marion gets to the motel, Norman is very nice to her, but she starts to notice some strange things happening, like a weird looking doll in her room.

Then, something really scary happens! While Marion is taking a shower, someone comes in and attacks her with a knife! This scene is very famous because it is very shocking and scary.

After this, the movie gets even more mysterious and creepy. We start to learn more about Norman, his relationship with his mother, and some twisted secrets that they have been keeping.
