Psychological impact of discrimination on health

Discrimination is when people are treated unfairly because of something about them - like their race, gender, age, or if they are disabled. This can have a bad effect on people's mental (thinking) and physical health. When people are treated unfairly or worse than other people, it can make them feel bad about themselves, feel lonely, sad, or frustrated. All of these feelings make it hard for them to concentrate and do things they enjoy. Over time, people who are discriminated against are more likely to get sick and their bodies may not be able to fight off certain diseases.
