Psychomotor agitation

Psychomotor agitation is when a person's body moves a lot without them being able to control it. It's like when you're really excited and you can't sit still or you can't stop moving your hands or your legs. But for some people, this happens even when they're not excited or happy. It can happen when they're stressed, anxious or feeling low.

Psychomotor agitation can look different for different people. Some people might pace back and forth, while others might fidget with their hands or tap their feet. Some people might talk really fast or make repetitive movements like pulling on their hair or rubbing their hands together.

People with psychomotor agitation might find it hard to focus or sit still. This can make it hard for them to do everyday activities like school or work. It can also be frustrating and tiring for them.

Sometimes, psychomotor agitation can be a symptom of an underlying condition such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder. It's important to talk to a doctor or mental health professional if you or someone you know is experiencing psychomotor agitation, as they can help figure out what's causing it and provide appropriate treatment.
