Puer aeternus

Puer aeternus is a fancy way of saying "eternal child" in Latin. It's a term used to describe someone who seems to never want to grow up and take on new responsibilities.

Imagine that you have a toy that you really love playing with. You have so much fun with it that you don't want to put it away and do your homework, go to bed, or eat your vegetables. You just want to keep playing with your toy, even if it means you won't be able to do grown-up things that you need to do.

For some people, this feeling never goes away. They want to keep playing and avoiding responsibilities, even when they are adults. This can be a problem because being an adult means taking care of yourself, paying bills, and taking on responsibilities for others. It's important to find a balance between having fun and being responsible.

So, puer aeternus is a term used to describe someone who has a hard time finding that balance and always wants to stay in their childhood "playtime" instead of growing up and taking on adult responsibilities.
