Puerto Rican migration to New York City

Okay, so imagine you live in Puerto Rico, which is an island in the Caribbean Sea. Lots of people live there and it's a really nice place, but sometimes people don't have as many jobs or good opportunities to make money.

Now, imagine that there is a really big city far away that's called New York City. It's a very special place with tall buildings and lots of people and things to do. People there can get good jobs and make lots of money to support themselves and their families.

So some people from Puerto Rico decide to move to New York City to find better jobs and opportunities. They would need to take a really long airplane ride to get there.

When they arrive in New York City, they might not know anyone or speak the same language as everyone else. This can be really scary and difficult. But over time, they make new friends and learn how to speak English.

Now, lots of people from Puerto Rico live in New York City and they have their own neighborhoods where they can share their culture and food together. They still love Puerto Rico and visit there often, but they are happy to have a new home in New York City where they can work hard and live good lives.
