ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Pyramid inch

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a triangle made out of gold. Now imagine that this triangle has three sides and a pointy top that comes together to make a point. The measurement from the pointy top to the bottom of one of those sides is known as one inch in the Pyramid System of measurement.

So, when someone talks about a "pyramid inch," they're referring to a specific measurement in this system. It's like when you measure something using a ruler, you're using a specific unit of measurement to determine how long or wide or tall it is.

The reason it's called a "pyramid inch" is because this system of measurement is based on the pyramids in Egypt, which were built a long, long time ago. People who study these pyramids noticed that the measurements used to build them were very precise and consistent, even though they didn't have rulers or measuring tapes back then. So they came up with a system of measurement based on the dimensions of the pyramids, and that's where the "pyramid inch" comes from.

I hope that helps!
