Pyrophyllite

Pyrophyllite is like the opposite of a hot potato. Instead of being hot and burning your hands, it's a type of rock that doesn't like to get hot at all!

Picture a bunch of tiny, flat sheets all stacked on top of each other like a stack of pancakes. That's what pyrophyllite looks like up close. And when you heat it up, those little sheets don't like to stick together anymore.

But that's not all pyrophyllite can do! It's also very soft, kind of like a really smooth crayon. And because it's so soft, people use it to make things like ceramics, paint, and even some types of makeup!

So even though pyrophyllite doesn't like to get hot, it can still do some pretty cool things!
