Q (or "quaternary") is a number format, like binary (two numbers 0 and 1) or decimal (ten numbers 0-9). In quaternary numbers, there are four numbers: 0, 1, 2 and 3. Using quaternary numbers, you can represent any number. For example, the number 12 in quaternary form is 102. This means that you have one number in the hundreds place (1), no numbers in the tens place (0) and two numbers in the ones place (2).
