ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Quaker views of homosexuality

Quakers are a group of people who believe that everyone is equal and deserves respect no matter what. Some Quakers believe that being homosexual is okay and should be accepted, while others believe it is not okay.

Think about it this way: some people like chocolate ice cream and some people like vanilla ice cream. It doesn't mean one is better than the other, it just means people have different preferences.

Similarly, some Quakers believe that being homosexual is just how some people are and it's okay for them to be that way. Other Quakers believe it goes against their religious beliefs and think it's not okay.

But no matter what someone believes, Quakers believe in treating others with love and kindness. So even if someone has different beliefs about homosexuality, they shouldn't treat someone badly just because of who they are.
