Quantization of the electromagnetic field

Quantization of the electromagnetic field means that light and other forms of electromagnetic radiation, like the signals for radios and televisions, comes in small bundles called "quanta" or "photons". Photons are like tiny packets of energy. They move around really fast, and when they hit something, they release that energy. This is how we get light from the sun or from a lightbulb.
