Quaternary structure

Think of quaternary structure like building a toy with different pieces. Each piece by itself is important but the toy won't work until all the pieces are put together in the right way.

In the same way, quaternary structure refers to how different molecules come together to form a complex, functional structure. For example, proteins are made up of amino acid building blocks, but they often need to join together with other proteins to do their job properly. This joining together is the quaternary structure.

It's kind of like building a Lego creation. Each Lego block represents an amino acid, but the final structure cannot be formed until all the blocks (amino acids) are in the correct positions and attached to one another.

Overall, quaternary structure is the way that different structures combine to make something functional and complex.
