Quia Emptores

Quia emptores is a Latin phrase that means "because of the buyers." It was a law passed in England in 1290 that gave more power to the people buying land. Before this law, people selling land had more control over who bought the land, but this law gave buyers the same amount of power and allowed them to buy from any seller they wanted. Quia emptores made it easier for people to own their own land and improved their rights as buyers.
