Quietism (Christian philosophy)

Okay kiddo, have you ever wanted to be really quiet and just listen to what others are saying? Well, there is a way of thinking called quietism in Christianity that is kind of like that.

Quietism is the belief that we can get closer to God by being silent and still. Instead of talking a lot and doing things all the time, quietists think that we should be peaceful and patient. This way, we can allow God to speak to us and guide us in our lives.

Quietists believe that God is always with us, but it can be hard to hear Him when we are too busy and noisy. By being quiet and meditative, we can open ourselves up to God's presence and let Him work through us.

Some people might think that quietism means we should just sit around and do nothing. But that's not true! We can still be active and do good things for others. The difference is that we are doing these things in a way that is calm and centered, and we are always listening for God's direction.

Quietism can be a helpful way of approaching your faith, but it's not for everyone. Some people might find it hard to be quiet and still, and that's okay too. The important thing is to find a way of connecting with God that feels right to you.
