Qurban (Islamic ritual sacrifice)

Qurban is a special Islamic ritual where people sacrifice a selected animal, like a cow, goat or sheep. This ritual sacrifice usually takes place during the Islamic festival called Eid al-Adha, which is also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice". It's a very important and special time for Muslims all around the world.

During the qurban ritual, the animal is slaughtered in a very specific way by a skilled person. It's important that the animal is healthy and the slaughter is done in a humane way. The meat from this sacrifice is then divided into three parts: one part is given to the poor and needy, another part is given to neighbors and friends, and the remaining part is kept for the family to eat.

This ritual is a way of showing gratitude and thankfulness to Allah (God) for the blessings in our lives. It's also a time for Muslims to remember the story of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), who was willing to sacrifice his son as a way of showing his devotion and obedience to Allah. However, Allah intervened and replaced the son with a lamb, which was then sacrificed instead.

Overall, qurban is an important part of Islamic culture and a time for Muslims to come together and share their blessings with others.
