Ríg (Norse god)

Okay, so you know how there are some really powerful people and creatures in stories called gods? Ríg is one of those gods from Norse mythology. He's the god of things like fertility and growth.

One story about Ríg is that he visited some humans to see if they were good enough to be his special followers. He met a man named Ai and a woman named Edda who were very kind and welcoming to him. Ríg was pleased with them and decided to bless them with a child.

The child that Ríg blessed Ai and Edda with was very special because he would eventually become a very important person. This child was called Thrall and he became the ancestor of all working-class people in Norse mythology.

So basically, Ríg is a god who blesses people with children. And one of the children he blessed a couple with became the ancestor of a whole group of important people in the stories of Norse mythology.
