RECOVERY Trial

So, have you ever been sick and had to take medicine to help you get better? Well, sometimes doctors and scientists want to find out which medicine is the best at helping people get better when they are really sick.

The Recovery Trial is a big study where scientists are trying to find the best treatment for people who have the coronavirus. They are looking at different medicines and treatments to see which ones work the best.

To do this, they have lots of different people who are sick with the coronavirus, and they give some of them one medicine, and some of them another medicine, and some of them nothing at all (just regular care). Then, they see which group of people gets better the fastest and the most.

The scientists are very careful when doing this study, so they make sure everyone gets good care and no one is hurt. They also check and measure lots of things like how much each medicine costs and how many side effects each medicine might have.

At the end of the study, the scientists will be able to tell us which medicine is the best to help people get better from the coronavirus.
