Rabbits in Australia

Australia is a big island country that is home to many animals, including rabbits. Now, rabbits are cute and fluffy creatures that are known for their long ears and cute little tails. However, they are not originally from Australia, they're from Europe.

A long time ago, some people brought rabbits to Australia because they wanted to hunt them for sport and food. But the rabbits quickly started to breed very, very quickly, without any natural predators to keep their numbers in check.

Over time, the rabbits started to overrun the country, and they became a big problem. They started to eat all the grass and plants that other animals needed, and this hurt the ecosystem. They also caused a lot of damage to farms because they ate crops that were meant for people to eat.

So, the government had to step in and try to control the population of rabbits. They introduced rabbits-killing viruses, built fences to keep them away from farmland, and even used helicopters to drop poison on large populations of rabbits.

It's still an ongoing battle, but the idea is to keep the rabbit population under control so it doesn't cause too much damage to the ecosystem and the farmers who need to protect their crops.
