Racism in South Africa

Racism in South Africa is when some people are treated differently because of their skin color or the way they look. It has a long history in South Africa because in the past, the laws of the country said that people with dark skin could not go to certain places or have the same rights as people with lighter skin. This was wrong and a lot of people have worked hard over the years to get rid of racism in the laws and in society. Sadly, even though the laws have changed, some people in South Africa still think that people with dark skin are not as good as people with lighter skin and so they treat them differently. This can include not giving them jobs, not letting them into certain places, or not letting them have as many rights.
