Radiation pattern

Radiation pattern is the shape of the areas where energy is sent out from something. If something sends out energy in all directions, like a lightbulb, the radiation pattern looks like a circle. But other things, like antennas, send energy in specific shapes and directions. The radiation pattern looks like a picture that shows which direction the energy is going. It's helpful to engineers when they design antennas, so they know how best to send signals in the right direction.
