Raid at Cabanatuan

So, imagine there was a group of bad guys called the Japanese army who came to a place called Cabanatuan during a war. They took a lot of people called prisoners of war (POWs) to a place called a camp, so they couldn't leave. They weren't being treated nicely and they needed help.

Then, a group of really brave people called the United States Army Rangers decided they needed to help the POWs. They planned a secret mission to sneak into the camp, using weapons and tricks to distract the bad guys so they could free the POWs.

When they got to the camp, they found lots of prisoners who were sick, tired, hungry, and scared. But the Rangers didn't give up – they helped the POWs escape and get back to safety.

It was a very dangerous mission, but the Rangers saved almost 500 people in the end. They are remembered as heroes who risked their lives to help others.
